How to Choose Dignity in an Undignified Situation Ugh, we just got into another fight. What is it about planning a holiday visitation with your kids that always seems to cause stress, anger, resentment, and well I’ll just be honest childish behavior?! I want to do better. I have to do better. I’m learning that […]

The single most important thing I want you to know as a single mom: You are a whole family. You are not missing something, you are not lacking, you are not incomplete, you are not broken, you are important, and you have a legacy to build. Don’t. Give. Up. Question: What do you want people […]
Dear Single Mom, He sees you. He sees you stay up late to finish your laundry so your son has his favorite shirt to wear to school tomorrow. He sees you as you finish work, rush home to get your daughter to dance class, and collapse at night on the coach too tired to drag your […]

“Really?! She had to say #blessed with a picture of her Tiffany Pearls from her adoring husband? If I see one more anniversary photo captioned something about living life with my best friend and a #blessed I am deactivating my Facebook account!!!!” Woah, that was ugly! Those were my inner thoughts while sifting through my […]

She’s just a little girl. She is laying in a hospital bed waiting for a surgery that’s happening too late. Well, better late then never I guess. While she’s laying in that bed she’s thinking about what it will be like to finally be able to walk normally like all the other girls at school. […]

The life of a full time single mom feels like a constant struggle, like a track full of hurdles that you have to complete every day, and you start the race already tired. It’s like living on the edge of chaos every day. One slip, one hurdle knocked over, has a domino effect. Boom everything […]

Pigs are flying. I’m just saying. Somewhere, it’s possible that pigs have grown wings and are fluttering around like butterflies after what happened this weekend. It was my oldest daughter, Emily’s 10th birthday. She requested a manicure party at home. Now this sounds like a pretty easy thing, except a party at home means that […]

Maybe your Valentine’s day is full of red roses and boxes of chocolate. Or maybe it’s full of disappointment and apathy. If this is the case, I’d like to try to change your attitude about it. Here is an audio Valentine that might help. It’s a love letter to you from God. (Also my first […]

It’s time to create a vision for you life. Yes, it may feel like your life just came crashing down and is a big stinking pile of dung, but let’s use that dung for what it’s best for, fertilizer for new growth. This unexpected turn in your life is not the death of you. If […]

He was begging from the side of the road, trying to get Jesus’ attention. He was blind. Jesus stopped and asked, “What do you want me to do for you?” (Mark 10:51) Imagine Jesus is asking that of you too today. Go big. The blind beggar didn’t say,” oh please make my rough situation a […]

Father, thank you for the gift of these amazing little humans in my life, and thank you for promising to help me raise them, because I need it. You say that I should give all my worries to you for you care for me. (1 Peter 5:7). I give to you my worries that I’m failing […]

Papa, we pray for a turnaround kind of day! Lord, remind us that our past does NOT dictate our future. You do! Today, give us the strength to break away from behaviors that our limiting our future, and open a door of opportunity for us to walk right through! For You say, “Ask and it […]

Jesus said, “whatever you ask for in prayer it is already granted if you believe, trust, be confident in” (mark 11:23 AMP). What is it that you think is impossible? Let’s take it to God together and tell him we believe, trust, and are confident in his ability to make it possible…

God, make me more confident. Not confident like it’s some kind of ego trip and I think I’m better than everyone else, but the kind of confident that is based on You. Your abilities are limitless. There are no boundaries for what You can do Your resources never run out. God, give me confidence that all […]

Lord, help us to confidently expect good things from You today! Please, eliminate the legalistic thinking that You will give us only what we deserve. No way! Your word says, “I know what I’m doing. I have it all planned out—plans to take care of you, not abandon you, plans to give you the future […]

When you see a need, meet it, and together we can change the way the world sees God. Please join me in praying for the 10s of thousands that lost homes, cars, and all their personal possessions in the Great Flood of Louisiana. It’s one thing to see it on the news and say, “oh […]

Day Two: Chase Down Your Dreams!
I just found your website and listening to your show, early this morning, as God guided me to you/your resources. You gotta love those early-bird devotional times with God sometimes, when he needs your attention and you need his. I Just wanted to send a HUGE thanks, from one struggling single parent, who needed that fresh air and a sense of relief that you provided, when I heard and found you on the radio/your website today. What you do and stand for is so powerfully encouraging for the single parent world. Sad to say, much of our world chooses not to make room/support single parenting; even though we make up more than half of the worlds population almost. So, please keep spreading your bravery onward to the world, who all desperately await for Gods love through you/your resources.
