God doesn’t promise the comfortable. He promises to be your comforter. It’s been 3 years now since my professional life became very uncomfortable and I became a self employed single mom. The daily reliance on God to provide for me and help me parent has taught me about hope, fear, doubt, and trust. God didn’t […]

The BEST piece of dating advice I have ever received: “Be with the one you GET to be with, not the one you HAVE to be with.” This was from an amazing woman who had been in my shoes. She had been a single mother and had recently remarried. I’ll never forget that lunch because […]

The ONE greatest strength that could become your greatest weakness in your Single Mom Life: Independence. On one hand you you get the freedom to choose how to decorate, what’s for dinner, how to spend your free time. On the other hand it’s easy to overspend on Amazon, overeat at night, and do things you […]

There are angels sleeping among you. Open your eyes and see what you have, instead of wallow in what’s missing. I woke up to this angel face this morning. There’s something special about the bond a single mom has with her children. It’s not that it’s better than married couples, it’s just a different type […]

Do you ever have a day like this? I woke up feeling down today, it was hard to get out of bed. I didn’t want to be alone today. BUT once I mustered up the strength to get up, sipped some coffee and began watering my flowers I realized all is not dead. There is […]

I’m sorry love failed you. Well, at least one kind of love. I’m sorry the love of your partner that you had children with failed. I know that indescribable pain. It’s a death of what you thought your life would be like. It’s something to mourn. First, I want you to know it’s okay to […]

Why is it always something about Taco Tuesday? The single mom life is chaotic, kind of like a marathon except you are sprinting the entire way. That’s why you need to create consistency and multitasking for your own sanity. Taco Tuesday is our consistency. Every week my Sunshines know what’s for dinner. Sometimes it’s at […]

No one is better than anyone else. What do you in response to the racial tension in Charlottesville? Maybe before you eat dinner tonight or before you lay your head down on your pillow you can say this prayer…

God, I believe and declare I am a WILD woman with BOLD faith. I have the kind of faith that can move mountains out of the way. For you say you have plans to prosper me and not to harm me to give me hope and a future. You say my faith can move mountains! So […]

Father as I get ready for Easter, please help it not be another to do list that I have to survive through. Help me to slow down, think about how far I’ve come, and where I can go next. I didn’t find You God, You found me! You went so far to be with your […]

Oh Father, we want more! Help us make this Holy Week celebrating Easter be about more than finding the right outfit to wear to brunch, and instead about a breakthrough. We pray THIS word over our life, “…Free those who are wrongly imprisoned; lighten the burden of those who work for you. Let the oppressed go […]

I get it. I know stuff comes at you and it is hard, and you want to quit. When you get to that point, my friend, that’s when you run harder. That’s when you DOUBLE DOWN. Instead of stopping or retreating, you DOUBLE your efforts. My favorite pastor J.C. told me, “That’s when you make […]

Every once in a while you have to SHAKE THINGS up. If you want something different, it’s time to try something different. It could be as simple as taking a new route to work, rearranging the furniture in your living room, or changing up your workout routine. Do something different to get new results. The […]

Don’t do it! Don’t loose hope! God, you say that hope defered makes the heart sick, but a longing fulfilled is the tree of life.(Proverbs 13:12) Lord, no matter what has gone done in life today, please remind me to never loose HOPE, a confident expectation of good things from You, God. I believe and […]
I just found your website and listening to your show, early this morning, as God guided me to you/your resources. You gotta love those early-bird devotional times with God sometimes, when he needs your attention and you need his. I Just wanted to send a HUGE thanks, from one struggling single parent, who needed that fresh air and a sense of relief that you provided, when I heard and found you on the radio/your website today. What you do and stand for is so powerfully encouraging for the single parent world. Sad to say, much of our world chooses not to make room/support single parenting; even though we make up more than half of the worlds population almost. So, please keep spreading your bravery onward to the world, who all desperately await for Gods love through you/your resources.

I have been listening to Amanda Carol for a while now. She had inspired me on K love to become a pastor at the age of 63 and now I am the pastor of a growing church. She planted a seed that is now growing.
