Dumb with Silence: Soul Sunday

Dumb with Silence: Soul Sunday

What are you waiting for?

Is there something that is burning within you that you cannot dismiss, a thought, a dream, a goal, a wrong that you want to make right?  Speak up. Act now.

Do not be dumb with silence.  Do not be lazy with your future.

Think of the first woman that spoke up against Harvey Weinstein.  Think of the brave US gymnasts that faced their abuser in court. Their courage in the face of great risk has inspired us all to act.  It is time.

I came across this prayer of David in Psalm 39 this morning and was challenged personally to not waste any more moments of  my life.

“I was dumb with silence…Lord, what do I wait for and expect? My hope and expectation are in You.” -Psalm 39: 2,7

I don’t know about you but I don’t want to spend 40 more years wandering around the desert like the Israelites looking for their home land.  At 42 years old, I am done with the desert.  I am done allowing my so-called limitations of responsibility and busyness as a mother limit my future dreams.  I’m tired of being small.  I want to live big.

I want to speak up when I feel God nudging me.  I want to make the most out of every moment I have left. Instead of being dumb with silence and lazy about the future it’s time for a shift. If I want my children to live their life that way then they better see me living mine this way.

Be smart with your words.  Be focused on your future.

Try this Prayer today inspired by Psalm 39 and let me know in your comments or emails what God is birthing inside of you.

“Lord, make me to appreciate the measure of my days – what it is; let me know and realize how frail I am (how transient is my stay here)… truly every woman is merely a breathe.  Lord what do I wait for and expect? My hope and expectation are in you…I was dumb with silence, no more.  Help me to be inspired by you with my words and focused on serving You without limitation. -In Jesus’ name, Amen

If you are ready to make more of a difference with your life could you consider transforming Amanda’s Village in Bangladesh with me?  This morning mothers woke in Parulia Para worrying not about what their kids will wear to church or if the basketball uniform was clean, but how am I going to get clean water and something for my children to eat. She’s worried about how to keep her daughter away from child marriage.  This is a wrong that I’m not waiting to right anymore.  Help me transform their life, and transform yours in the process by going here:  www.amandasvillage.com

Love,
