Monday Motivation: NOT Your Fight

Monday Motivation: NOT Your Fight

Your relationship status may say “single”, but your spiritual status says “in a relationship with one might warrior”

The daily battle of single parenting is a righteous one, but it’s not meant for you to fight alone. It’s definitely not one to give up on either. This is NOT your fight. Live your life knowing what David believed when he went into the battle.

“Contend, O Lord, with those who contend with me; fight against those who fight against me.  Take hold of shield and buckler, and stand up for my help!” -Psalm 35:1-2 AMP

This is NOT your fight.  Whatever power struggle is going with your teenager, whatever budget battle is going on with your bank account, You are not in this battle alone.  Believe in god’s power to fight your battle WITH you. (Notice I didn’t say for you.  You have a role to play).

When you Choose Dignity in an undignified sitution (check out my previous blog about that single mom lifestyle tip), ask God to join you in the fight, You make Him look good…and you.  GOD WILL STAND UP FOR YOU!

He will defend your honor when others criticize.  He stands up for you when their is a lack of a husband or father figure and takes that place for you!  Could you ask for any better leader?

Sidenote: What is a Buckler? (see above verse).  I LOVED it when I looked it up.  It’s a small round shield on your arm.  Like WONDER WOMAN!  Yes.  Except God is armed with it for you.

Let’s learn more from our warrior example David. This is the last verse that he wrote in Psalm 35 when  he was up against a mortal enemy. what our warrior example David wrote when he was up against a mighty enemy:

“Let those who favor my righteous cause and have pleasure in my uprightness shout for joy and be glad and say continually let the Lord be magnified who takes pleasure in the prosperity of his servant.” -Psalm 35 (AMP)

Don’t magnify your problems by complaining.  As my best friend warrior Patty puts it, “don’t let that negative thought rent any space in your head.”

That’s the way you get others to embrace your cause.  It’s not by throwing a pity party and complaining about how hard single parenting is on Facebook.  Trust me, I’ve done that and it repelled friends away.

You get people to embrace your cause and fight with you when you hold your head up high and do the right thing anyway.  When you live your life with this attitude You should be, and you WILL be prosperous, no matter what battle you face.

Choose Dignity. God will STAND UP for you.  I am hear to cheer you on.

You got this!  We got this!

Love, AC

Daily Prayer:  Father, I believe and declare that you will fight against those who fight with me.  You will stand up for me and be my help.  Whatever battle I am facing today I trust that your shield will protect me.  I do not fight this battle alone. I will not shy away from it either. I will stand up for the right thing because I know you stand up for me. -In Jesus’ name, Amen
