Prayer to Right a Wrong

Father, today I am grateful for the example of a man who used his FAITH in You to look fear in the face and right a wrong.

I am in awe of the guts it took for Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. to stand on the steps of The Lincoln Memorial, and declare his DREAM for freedom. You answered! Lord, help us to make this dream even bigger.  I believe that we can get even better with our race relations.  I believe that You can help us stop judging each other on how we look, what we believe, the language we speak, or the lifestyle we live.  When we can love like You, more will believe in You. Help us to be better examples.

He drew on the power of faith to overcome seemingly insurmountable challenges. Oh Lord, help us realize that we have this same divine power, and can use it to pursue our dreams too.  We can harness it to right a wrong that we see in our family, neighborhood, school, workplace, and even our country. He was just a normal guy too.   Today I relinquish my fear to You and ask that you replace it with faith and courage like Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Give me the faith to take the first step even when I don’t see the whole staircase. -In Jesus name, Amen.
